Process
- Do you have people sit for you? No. I draw my portraits from photos.
- Materials used. Each portrait is rendered by blending many layers of pencil and charcoal on an archival
smooth bristol paper.
- The more detailed the photo, the more detailed the portrait. Detail is what makes the portrait truly come
to life, so it is important to choose a photo that is clear and crisp. Pick your favorite photo, and also send a few others for
me to refer to.
- Combining photos of 2 or more people. Most people say "but I can never get a good picture of my kids together!"
It is possible for me to draw a pencil portrait by combining several photos to create the final composition.
- Sending photos. Please email photos (resolution at least 300dpi) or send hard copies. If you have more
specific questions, please email me.
